Marie Feirtear

Marie was born in the Gaeltacht area of West Kerry and first discovered yoga when backpacking in Nepal in the 1990s. Marie started attending yoga classes in Dublin in the Noughties as a way of easing out chronic running injuries and gradually the running got left behind as yoga took over! Marie completed the introductory Iyengar teaching certificate Level 2 with Aisling Guirke in Dublin in 2006 and has taught Iyengar & sports yoga classes in Dublin. Marie is a chartered physiotherapist and feels this complements yoga teaching as her work has given her a deep knowledge of human anatomy and an understanding of injury prevention. She also lectures in anatomy and physiology for yoga teachers. She loves the ashtanga practice for the inner peace it has given her and is continuing to deepen her understanding of pranayama and meditation. She has travelled extensively and has recently trained with Paul Dallaghan in Thailand. She attends Mysore style classes with Luke Jordan in Dublin and is grateful to all the wonderful teachers she has studied with for passing on the tradition of yoga.
