Yogi Nurse
Mary-Beth Charno
I live in New York, where I am fondly known as Yoginurse, having successfully combined the western-medical world of nursing with my love and education of natural, integrative therapies. I specialize in Oncology nursing, administering chemotherapy to both the inpatient and outpatient populations. I am also a certified Holistic Nurse, bringing to my patients yoga, Reiki, aromatherapy and integrative nutrition. I have been an avid student of yoga for many years and a teacher for ten. My yoga journey started in classical Ashtanga yoga, and although it’s a practice dear to heart, I now mostly teach vinyasa with strong alignment principles. I am soon to be a graduate of The Urban Zen Integrative Therapy program in NYC, combining holistic modalities in the care of the hospitalized patient. A strong component of my work is in teaching nurses self-care. ‘Healer heal thy-self’ first, then attend to patient care. I am a certified Breema bodywork practitioner and instructor. Breema is called the Art of Being Present, offering practical tools for mind-body connection. It is a rich support for my life.
I am grateful for this opportunity to share my knowledge and look forward to one day meeting all of you.
Namaste,
Yoginurse
